DVD DEMO – Really Useful Strumming Techniques (justinguitar)
This is the demo video for Justin’s latest DVD – Really Useful Strumming Techniques. Leaning to play rhythm guitar can be one of the most frustrating things for a beginner guitarist. It can also be a problem for more advanced players that never got it right when they started! This is the solution! This DVD starts at absolute beginner level and focuses on basic eighth note strumming patterns and continuous hand movement. It then develops the use of ties, picking out the bass note of a chord and the use of the muted strum as a percussive device – along with a whole lot of handy hints to help you get your rhythm guitar techniques solid. It finishes with a brief look at sixteenth note strumming and it’s applications. There are 20 patterns studied during the DVD, each one fully explained and then played over and over again for you to play along with, and make sure you get in the groove and get it right! There is a pdf booklet on the DVD for you to print out (or just look at on a computer screen) and of course support is available on the web site forum found at www.justinguitar.com/forum I think this is the best DVD I have made to date and will be a really big help for anyone struggling to get their rhythm playing consistent and confident. Part 7:39 – 8:50. Basically, what is suggested is that doing 4 times down – up is somehow “less pacey” than doing 8 times downstroke at the same tempo (in terms of the listeners). I disagree on that. I mean, yes, you have increased volume (deliberately I would say) by strumming harder, and yes, you are moving your hand twice as fast, but to the listener the effect remains the same. You have to play some upstrokes as well, so the audience can hear that the rhythm is doubled.

@ticotorrent Does being a Good Guitar Tutor qualify to for Indian Loksabha Elections? you are too crazy for such a comment buddy, please don’t belittle your own nation, praise him but not at the cost of India
ticotorrent :
Hey Justin you are a great guy and a wonderful teacher. Thanks for all the free lessons. If you came to India and stood for prime minister i’d vote for you in a heartbeat. Anyway who would want to be the prime minister of a country like india? So i guess i’d just have to say God Bless you abundantly may your new album be a really big hit and may you achieve all that you dream of.

Ok people, I have purchased this complete DVD. I can guarantee you that my name before was, mr robot. I totally sucked major ass at strumming chords while I could play solo’s and so. After I purchased this and followed these steps of this 2 hour DVD of Justin I got rid of my robot nickname and arm. I got rid of the UP DOWN UP like strumming way. I can now listen and hear the strumming patern and play along on hearing. This DVD is really worth it.
