New Years Eve Resolution Ideas For 2010-2011
Before you know it, New Years will be here again. It almost sneaks up on us, leaving us unprepared to have a plan for the next year that helps us better our lives. If you’re one of those people who get caught off card by news years, or if you’re just plum out of ideas, here are a few that you might find invigorating.
NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS
Have Compassion
This is easy and hard at the same time. So often in our world, misfortunate things happen to unfortunate people. Natural Disasters, economic downturn, disease, war and a myriad of other things. Often times in our world, we forget that we have many things that others do not, whether through misfortunate events or simply misfortune of birth. Some choose that path and others land there because another person took away they choices.
Either way, this new years eve, it would be great to make a resolution to be more compassionate to those who do not have what you have. Not necessarily those who have less then you do, but anyone who is in need of some compassion from another human being. Take some bread to a soup kitchen, volunteer some time this year, take some stuff you don’t need that is useful to a homeless camp in your area. Give a rescued pet a forever home, tutor a child in need, offer to help your neighbors or something else you can think of. Spread the love!
Write And Play A Song
No new years resolution would be so worthy as one that offers a challenge. This one is not an impossible challenge though. You can easily get a guitar, keyboard, flute, drum, computer or other instrument and learn to play some simple rhythms. Then get out your pen and write to the rhythm. Then wal la! You have met your news years resolution. Check out places like http://www.tabcrawler.com or http://www.chordie.com to learn some easy guitar tabs, then check out youtube for some easy beginner lessons. Learning to play an instrument is a life long benefit that scientist have proven helps build your intellect! Try it out, it’s not as hard as you think!
Shop Locally
Why go all the way out to walmart for that cheap crappy stuff, when you can spend the same money going to a local store? You either spend your money trying to get to walmart in gas, or you spend it at a local store and save on gas. So why not help the local economy and help us strive to get away from foreign dependence and buy local? It’s an easy resolution! Put it on your list and you’ll find your whole world will change for the better, as will the lives around you. There’s hardly any better resolution that that!
Grow Your Own
Whether it’s food, cotton, fuel or flowers, there are plenty of reason to get out your thumb and go green this year. With all this talk of global warming and trying to bring our planet back to full health, why not start right at home? Every small task completed helps the earth little by little and the more of us that do it, double the amount of help it truly brings.
Get out your shovel, muck clothes and vegetable seeds and start planting. Before you know it, you’ll have fresh salads, tastey flavor enhancers and better health for you and the planet!
Get Your Cannabinoids
With all the talk of cannabinoids and the cannabinoid receptors in our brain, cannabis advocates everywhere are shouting at the top of every bell tower about the health benefits of getting your daily cannabinoids. No, I’m not suggesting you should go out and get high and build up your THC, I’m talking about more than that. You don’t even have to take in the THC to get the miraculous benefits of CBD’s (cannabinoids).
Take the time to look into the science of cannabis and all it can offer you. Once you do, I am sure you will find that THC is only a small part of the overall picture. You can cook and eat cannabis in a way that removes the THC and gives you all the cancer inhibitive, bone regenerative, creativity inducing, pain relieving benefits that can be offered by no other plant on earth.
Study Something Esoteric
Why not expand your world and your mind and take a class or two in the esoteric region of study? You can often find free or low cost ( a month and up) online schools and classes that teach psychic skills, paranormal studies, ancient religions, secret societies, ancient civilizations, chakras, energy medicine and more.
Start your new years with something interesting this year and make a resolution to learn something unusual! It doesn’t even have to be esoteric for that matter, just choose something you normally wouldn’t that can expand your mind, some unusual, something fun, something interesting!
Invent A New Game
This is fun and easy. Plus you never know, you’re new game might just become the next world wide hit and make you a couple million bucks! Don’t bank on that, but put your full energy into the same. How you will start? Will it have cards? Or a board? Maybe some dice and a story book?
Take a look at some other games that have been invented to find some inspiration, or look online for some easy instructions to getting you started and you’ll be having fun in no time. Put this item on your resolution list and you’ll have fun and do something the better everyone’s lives at the same time!
Pay It Forward
“Pay It Forward” has been gaining in popularity for some time. This is especially great because it is a way to change your world and another persons in a way like no other. The idea is to do something for 3 or more people, preferrable something they really need done and to ask for only one thing in return; that they pay it forward. Put all your effort into the task as if you were being paid for it, with your full intent on doin your best.
Then when you are done or have given them what they needed, ask them to do the same for 3 or more other people in their lives. The only catch is, they can’t do something for you directly, or that would ruin the whole point.
Go and ask your elder neighbor if you can mow their lawn for them, or tell you’re best friend that you can paint their house for them, or make a sweater for someone who needs one. Give someone some music lessons, teach them your business or help them with something. It’s not hard to do, makes you feel good inside and eventually it will return to you with many benefits.
Whatever New Years Resolution you choose, make it interesting and make sure that it’s something you can complete. There is no use making a resolution you can’t keep. Choose something that challenges you to get out of your “normal” pattern and have fun with it!
Happy soon to be new year!
