I’m just a gypsy who gets paid
For all the songs that I have played
And all the records that I have made
I’m part of a caravan
I have? travelled on the land
Making music for my fellow man
And every song I played or wrote
With a sad or happy note

The Gypsy is one of his best compositions so deeply personal- he literally put himself into the song, the lyric – he is singing about himself and the amazing guitar solo – both completely Feliciano.

@LakicGuitar Nicest comment, my friend, nicest.
MalThorgan :
@jammdawg …….agree with you……….Winwood started very young & is still going better than ever……always involved with great musos…….to their mutual benefit and our great enjoyment !
jammdawg :
Don’t forget, Stevie started out on drums. And he was only fifteen when he joined Traffic. He is the most under-rated musician I know of.
guitargodsam :
@BluesBurner Haha please don’t start man just listen to the music, that’s what it’s all about.
oleole52 :
Why has no one mentioned Stevie Winwood?Damn amazing songwriter who’s primarily a piano and organ player[Gimme Some Lovin, and so many others.]Turns out he picks pretty good, too.
EdVidz :
Who’s the drummer in the black shirt? This looks like a guy I’ve seen play with Roger Waters and with Mike Oldfield (?) – I think he and Doyle Brammel played with Waters actually.

derek trucks just smokes it!
StopTheMoti0n :
GOD being a professional, touring musician must be a blast.
Guitar4blues :
Guys, this is just a jam, granted some of the guitar work was subpar but, still a pretty good delivery. Got to love the way the group just churns through this one driving it home. And, as someone said earlier, you know what happens when Eric takes two steps back from the mic….the clouds part and EC delivers a lightning strike right there on the stage!
LakicGuitar :
@BluesBurner eric is better…he has more experience, he has “it”…I can’t describe what “it” is but he has “it”
Derek is not overrated in any way, he is an awesome guitar player…derek has “it” too…but idk…mr. Eric is better to me
LakicGuitar :
@JangoManiac56 well, yes, thank you Mr. Les Paul, but why post it here? No one in this video plays one and mr. Les Poul doesn’t have anything to do with this song (it’s a song originally by Robert Johnson)
LakicGuitar :
@fischergary but not this one…female backup singers are a nice touch to this one
drebyrd54 :
One man’s meat is another man’s poison. I like the female backup singers.
believemenatalie :
Bloody cool.
padleynj :
@fischergary Agreed…They are sooo annnnoying!!!!!!!
fischergary :
female backup singers constantly ruin great songs
yankeespy3 :
Wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
green66vw :
@tannerr96 good one.
ascreamingwalrus :
@LakicGuitar 12 people dont know what happens when he does…
clintnicolan :
yeah baby just got an electric current right up my legs and thru the top of my head ..your the man eric
Curlybird998 :
Another great rendition of the old Robert Johnson song. Bramhall, Trucks and Winwood all take good solos, EC takes everyone to school on the Soul of the Blues. @jasonteten has it right, it’s all in the fingers and Clapton is the best because he has what other guitarists want and can’t seem to find. EC’s playing and stage presence exudes Soul, not pretense; Love of expression, not posing and an absolute conviction in every note that he plays. No throwaways here.
unhandledException1 :
video is 2 milliseconds out of sync.
BluesBurner :
@guitargodsam Eric is all. derek is overrated. Hes good but not as good as everybody pretends. Eric kills him im sorry.
tannerr96 :
my guitar teacher pointed out that eric and jimi hendrix were some of the best blues players because they would often take just three notes and play around them in different patterns and ever since he said that thats all what i’ve noticed
