When using the capo, it is convenient to call the chords you are playing the same name as if you were playing without capo, however you are actually playing different chords. It would be best to make that clear by saying you are using the shape of a certain chord. For example: place capo on 4th fret… the first chord has the SHAPE of Em / C / G / etc but the chords you’re playing are actually F# / E / B /…

@koki41182 Look, I’m not trying to be a dick here but she IS wrong. If you don’t believe me then just research it. Using a capo DOES NOT change the notes on the guitar. It just allows you to play open chords in different keys. The first chord she is playing IS c# minor. Just look it up or ask someone. I’ve been playing guitar for 24 years (yes, I’m old, I know) and I know I’m right on this. Like I said, I’m not trying to be an asshole but the first chord is C# minor…trust me on this.

@scottk108 yes.but you named bass notes for fucks sake.because playing bass you play just one note at the time.but in guitar you have to say a chord that is played.so first chord would not be C# if you are playing guitar.it would be called A

She’s naming the chords wrong. Adding a capo does NOT change the notes on the guitar. The capo is at the 4th fret making the first chord a C# minor.
