ST-520 • Twist And Shout – The Beatles (Beginner & Intermediate Guitar Lesson)

In this video you will learn a few different ways to play the classic Beatles tune Twist And Shout. We start off with a ‘super dooper easy’ version using just A, D and E chords with a capo, then we add a better rhythm, then we add in the ‘real chords’ without using a capo, then we add barre chords, then we add a 7th chord, then we add the riff and then we do the solo :) then we… finish! It’s lots of fun and hope you enjoy stretching your playing with this tune.Taught by Justin Sandercoe. Full support at the web site where you will find hundreds of lessons on a wide range of subjects, and all the scales and chords that you will ever need! There is a great forum too to get help, no matter what the problem. And it is all totally free, no bull. No sample lessons, no memberships. Just tons of great lessons :) To get help with your lesson look up the number at the start of the video title (like ST-666 or whatever) on the Lesson Index page. www.justinguitar.com Have fun .

“Metal Riffology”- Two DVD set, runtime approx. two hours. Learn to play and write riffs ranging from hard rock to black/thrash/death metal. Order from www.MetalRiffs.com . This program features over 100 all-new examples and covers even more aspects of metal riffing than the original version. Metal Method’s unique animated tab makes it easy to learn the examples, and Scorch files let you play everything on your computer at variable tempos. If you have ever been frustrated with the tab in other videos (many of which have no rhythmic notation or contain errors) you will be very glad to see how much easier it is to learn from Metal Method!

hodgeybaby :

@russiantoughguy erm it was actually written by phil medley and bert berns and originally recorded by the top notes. The Isley brothers did a cover of it and then the beatles covered it on their first album. So u need to get your facts right before u try to correct other peoples mistake.

1447Rod :

Thanks Justin, I’ve been playing guitar now and then for about 30 years but playing with a new found confidence and enthusiasm thanks to all your lessons. Rod

I would much rather pay for not only Sarah’s DVD’s, but also Michael Angelo Batio’s DVD’s of the “Metal Method” series. It makes sense to pay for solid LESSONS rather than rely on Youtube videos for ‘education’.

And why are you bashing guitar icons who made music some 20 years ago? You start with the basics, learn the history, then you progress as a MUSICIAN. Not some uneducated ‘riff’ junkie who’s full of themselves.

SarahSpisak :

@JohanDVanderbal
“I dont see why you are fighting me on this, simply remove the video and quit now.”
Uh, sure… I’ll do that right away. Thanks so much for all of your help!

JohanDVanderbal :

@SarahSpisak Again, you ignore my references, Jason becker was more technical 20 years ago, and there are detailed step by step free lessons on how to play his masterpiece “Perpetual Burn” The techniques in that song are more relevant to metal music than anything metal method has ever put out, including Mr. Batio’s playing, which is a far cry from anything metal. I dont see why you are fighting me on this, simply remove the video and quit now, as this is false advertising.

SarahSpisak :

@JohanDVanderbal
You’d be surprised, then, by the market for high quality DVDs. We have a large body of students who are able to discern the difference between professional lessons (and lesson support) and the free YouTube lessons.

JohanDVanderbal :

@SarahSpisak I dont think you should be charging anyone any money for this. Also, you should browse the home made lessons on youtube currently that are free. People are making real metal techniques available to anyone for free just by sharing knowledge. Knowledge is becoming free, thus I dont see a point in selling a product that doesnt even contain actual basics that are free on the internet. Look at Luca Turilli, you should know who he is, Guitarist of Rhapsody of Fire.

I don’t understand why I would change the name of a two-DVD package to reflect the content at the beginning of the first disc. What do you think of the end of disc two?

JohanDVanderbal :

@SarahSpisak If your making a “Beginner” Instructional DVD, you would probably want to call it Classic Rock, seeing as the techniques found in basic 70′s classic rock are basically what your teaching. I dont see this as being metal whatsoever, and is infact an insult to metal music in general.
I am not advanced, and I dont have to teach to make a living. If you listen to a band such as Brain drill you would notice that real metal sounds absolutely nothing like what your describing.

SarahSpisak :

@JohanDVanderbal
Wow- if those are BASIC techniques your students must be VERY advanced!
And yes, the lesson does begin with ideas from an earlier era before progressing into modern ideas not included in the free preview. Learning from a historical perspective is a great way to build a solid foundation. But I don’t have to tell you that- you know everything already! ;-)

JohanDVanderbal :

I dont see how any of this video is relevant to metal in any way whatsoever. If you want to sell DVDs, try updating your ideas another 20 years ahead. Basic techniques should include sweep to tapping, four note per string runs, multi tapping, triplets at over 210 bpm, and of course breakdowns. This video basically sounded like 70′s classic rock riffs, rehashed. Please learn how to tune your guitar also, the intonation might be broken, as most of your notes are very flat.

SarahSpisak :

@djchonny
Thanks!!!

@SarahSpisak

You should see my son’s (Joe spisak) guitars..

SarahSpisak :

@thecravenator42069
Learning isn’t for everybody.

thecravenator42069 :

I honestly can’t take this seriously. I feel like i should be learning CPR or something at school with this.

SarahSpisak :

@IPlayGamesYe
You like my guitar? Thanks! ;-D

IPlayGamesYe :
