Stevie Ray Vaughan – Texas Flood (Long version!)
( www.youtube.com ) Long version of Texas Flood by stevie ray vaughn ! Texas Flood is an electric blues album by blues guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan and his band Double Trouble, released in 1983. Although “Texas Flood” has three verses of lyrics, the song is more of a prolonged guitar solo, allowing Vaughan to show off his characteristic electric blues style. During live shows, he would often play portions of this song behind his back, arousing an enthusiastic crowd response. Stylistically, “Texas Flood” is structured around the common three chord blues progression. Written and performed in the key of G (sounding F# because of Vaughan’s tuning), it is in 12/8 time, or compound time[1], which gives it a “slow burning” feel that is common in Texas blues. en.wikipedia.org

@Thuggin2222 You should buy the dvd Live at the ElMacombo. See it on the bigger screen through the Big Speakers. This was originally aired on TV, at least in Toronto, in the 80′s.
Croozer :
@justinlikeshendrix77 Well played sir.
MsBjm123 :

luv853okg :
Thanks Stevie. I needed that. The coffee machine is broken.
mlm5150 :
The thing people have to remember, Every guitarist is different. Technically these guys were amazing. What Hendrix did, learning to play a right handed guitar, upside down so he could play left handed, amazing. SRV and his ability to play behind his back. Clapton, Billy Gibbons, BB, Buddy, hell even Quinn Sullivan. There are going to be subtle differences in all of them. Is one better than the other? Matter of personal opinion. it’s all about the music baby!

Anybody who compares any guitarist to any other guitarist is a dick. Keep in mind that Hendrix was a big influence to SRV even though his style is a little different.
kotrin :
@elektrobank55 I agree it is apples to oranges…I was just saying. And Jimi didn’t intentionally kill himself with drugs. It was a mistake because he was unfamiliar with the strength of sleeping pills…and the technical cause of death was asphyxiation on his vomit. NONETHELESS you are very much right, apples to oranges.
elektrobank55 :
@kotrin Umm, why do people feel the need to keep bringing up Hendrix? Sure he was only 27. He also killed himself with drugs. Vaughan died in a helicopter crash. Therefore, I have more respect for him. If I had to choose, I’d say Vaughan had more talent. Hendrix was a better showman. But it’s still apples to oranges
kotrin :
@elektrobank55 jimi was 27…what’s your point?
turnbacktime :
@09paulia why was it so necessary to ask such a stupid question?
elektrobank55 :
Nobody could even hope to be as talented on the guitar as SRV was, and the man was only 35 when he died. He is a legend. He could play better behind his back than most modern guitarists can play normally.
09paulia :
@czubczak that may be but It is truly a compliment.
czubczak :
@09paulia u just did:D
09paulia :
I just noticed this….how can one of the greatest blues bands ever not have a single black person in it?….not trying to start a racist controversy thing here.
gudnow47 :
to think this guys greatness is compared with a clip from “guitar hero world record cbc news?” the worlds perception on talent is completely misconstrued
trunoob :
i recently had this playing in my truck as my friend walked up to me and after i shut it off and got out he said “what the fuck is that shit you were listening too?”
all i can do is sigh because trying to explain how this music isn’t shit to someone like that is wasted time
cdm55 :
79 people have no taste in music.
flaegin :
yeah…you wouldn’t have Hendrix without Buddy Guy, and Buddy guy without BB King…and B king without T-bone walker…and so on…it’s just a lineage. Comparison is fine if you are seeing where the influence comes from, but comparing skill and talent is wasted time.
ms009WW :
@AYAHUASCERO1980
Vlatko Stefanovski’s? cover, at least the one I’ve seen, is one of the worst ever. He really has poor blues feelin’ to me and the part with the tapping is totaly untasteful. Don’t mean to be rude, just commenting
Kat91877111 :
Taken from us far too soon… I miss the time of great music and true talent… we certainly don’t have much of either anymore.
Kainnmaul :
If Jimi would have saw stevie in the flesh he would have said. ” whoa, whos this fuckin guy “
mtommynmel :
This Guy was the shit and still is i think his music fuckin rocks
