tzeolotltenamaxtli :

It is a wise comment to say that you need to practice things that are difficult to you .

eltrentoro :

the c isn’t really “added,” it’s already a part of the chord

f major is “f – a – c” all naturals

sorry just couldn’t help being a theory nerd

standindarkness :

why do you call the chord old school? people still use them and call that an f with an added c in the bass note, i think. anyways i love the lessons and thank you for all the time you are putting into this. you are the man!!!

themelvil :

Apart from the different sound it also depends on the progression. If a C follows the G, then I play the G with the pinky on the high E so I can switch to the C more easily.

MaximusVelocity :

That’s what I tend to do, but as Smalas points out, the voicing of Open G and Barre G are different (just like the two common ways to play Em7).

mabliss :

dude…. love your fret inlays :)

Zamnatou :

I think Justin wants to teach people the basic chords well, before he shows the “advanced” ones. I think this Is a great idea, I learned the basic chords long ago, but I still watch these videos here and practice it…and it is really helpful if you want to play faster and cleaner.

Smalas :

G open chord and G barre chord sounds different, a lot of songs use G open chord.

ytR0DN3Y :

…. could just move your fingers down two frets for a G barre chord…

Gamerdude17 :
