humanoutlaw :
@ribanan i just went with middle of the fret :p i got it few days back keep practicing with some combo chords D G A D it gets easier
ribanan :
@humanoutlaw i have the exact same question.. and it is about two days.. since i am trying to master G.. but no improvement so far..
my fingers are still touching the wrong strings..
humanoutlaw :
the finger 2 and 3 should be right behind the fret or in the middle is also k?

i just started playing guitar yesterday and i learned this chord. If you look at the diagram at :55 you can see at the top their are circles on the strings without your fingers on it. That means to strum open. If it had an X marking then you would not strum that string
brenoakiy :
i think this is one of the easiest chords
i have problems with Dm and C chords
dudedudedude94 :
justin, you’re so sweet!!
wwemaniac371 :
thanks man your’s the best
drummerboichris :
do you strum the hole 6 to play that or just the ones with the fingers on the string, sorry im puren ew to this ::D
ilurveutube123 :
thank u so much this is so useful!
lemonlime305 :
this guy is so much better than expert village
DudeProductions92 :
Nice lesson, i don’t think this chord is really hard, but i often see some G chords we’re the b string is fretted on the 3rd fret. Does it matter which one of them I’m playing or is it just a matter of personal preference? (I know, the grammar in this sentence is strange, I should go to bed.
)
guillll :
Yeah it is.
miketheblueeagle :
yes of course it okay i too often use my 4th (pinky) because i can move it easier to the chord g7 and g sus 4 but it depends what you find easisest though and also depending on what chord you may want too move too but i normally only use my pinky
focust :
I dont use the third thinger. Instead, I use the fourth. Is this ok?
J1K1R1 :
Thanks Justin.
Jacob
paulcollumbine :
whats ur tattoo
ShadowLord3220 :
Ofcourse te 1st and 2nd finger stays the same
ShadowLord3220 :
Its not a very hard chord ive started with 2finger with pinky on 3rd fret of E and 3rd finger on b on 3rd fret its much easier for me but everyone is making it diffrent
lookoverthere12 :
thanks alot for this!
umang1982 :

AirHendrix91 :
my thumb is straining so much doing the first A barre chord…
Can you explain the back fretting with the thumb?
What’s the right pad of the thumb and do I keep the thumb straight or what not?
I’m confused.
jcskware3 :
dudee how the hell is it even possible to put your index finger over the whole fret!
my fingers hurt
i think im gnna switch to a nylon string guitar at least till i know how to play something… cause my fingers hurt nd ive only been playing 3 minutes
the3rdstudio :
your the man
crashbro :
i freaking hate bar chords and ever invented them -.-
chrian09 :
you were so helpful really man thanx. before this i couldnt tell which chord was what i just knew the barr chord shapes and i used it all over the frets. now i know that you can tell by the note on the E string.
tobytwirrll :
Thanks. This is very helpful and clearly explained!
sportsguyz :

iharturine :

your very well at explaining it so that anyone can understand.
thanks!
danielfoster07 :
haha, me too. havent had a e string in four years.
guitarplayeru :
nope, your not missing a thing, I meant to say A string, but I accidentally said D string. Whoops!
socialhoney :
Haha. I broke the high e string on my guitar and never replaced it. Its been awesome ever since. Never going backup again.
Zdrastvooy :
Im lost at 3:56, the root is on the d string all of a sudden? I thought the root was the lowest note of the chord so a major chord played on the 5th fret of the a string would be a d major chord like he plays but the root would be on the a string surely? Or am i missing something?
bluei16 :
Very good lesson m8
rookieg :
thank you
