1) Basically Yes and then you play what sounds right to you in that scale

I have a couple of question no one seems to answer in videos.
1) when I play scales, can I use ANY note of the scale, or do I have to progress note by note down/up the scale?
2)DO I have to use the modes, or can I fuck it and just play from a random note until another random note?

actually i mange to do this chord, but i still got problem with my finger.. i feel like i’ll never be able to do some chord like X57775 with one finger on the 7 frets… cause my third finger totally mute (or press) the high E string.. you know what i mean?
