You have to mute the A string. That means you don’t actually skip over the string while strumming, but you have it muted so it doesn’t make any sound. This can be done by just slightly touching the string so it doesn’t ring out. You can either mute it by the finger that is pressing down the low E string. So you’re pressing down the string and with the rest of your finger only touching the A string. Or you can lay another finger on it.

David, I have a question re: the Gmaj7 chord that is formed as 3XOOO2. How do you skip over the A string while strumming that chord? I’m still new to this! Thanks.

and thought it sounded nice.
However im tone deaf as hell. Please someone play that progression and see if its decent to their ears. thnx

i am learning to play an acoustic guitar,it’s hard but i love it,,and ur the best teacher i have ever seen, i am working on changing between the major chords..i can’t give much time because of the exams that m going to have next month but i do practice for at least 30 mins a day….u rock

I love these chords but I don’t think they go too good with normal major chords. Thats just me.
