Guitar Lessons – Hallelujah by Rufus Wainwright, Leonard Cohen Shrek Beginners Acoustic songs
Go to yourguitarsage.com to find out how to get a chart to this song and 100s other songs!!! This guitar lesson vid shows you how to play Hallelujah, by Rufus Wainwright and written by Leonard Cohen. This was featured in Shrek. It shows you the chords, strumming technique and style. Check out yourguitarsage.com for info on my online instructional resources about charts, chords, strumming and the techniques that I use here in my videos.. For more guitar lessons, see my other free tutorials. For original and cover music by me, Erich, go to www.myspace.com . Since I’m so busy making new video tutuorial lessons all the time and teaching guitar, I probably won’t have time to answer individual questions regarding guitar. Other videos cover beginner, advanced and intermediate levels. I teach rock, blues, country and just about any other style on electric or acoustic. If you can’t find your answer from the resources at the website above, keep digging into my vids, and I’m sure you will find your answer. Keep practicing!!!

thanks
messianictorah :
I agree for a guitar instruction video you don’t want that text right over the fretboard because you can’t see your hands well, get rid of the text or move it on top. Thanks.

wow amazing!!
ProjectBulbasaur :
When playing the split measure CD you hit the root first and then which of the fingerings for the 2nd and 3rd?
carstenneugebauer :
not to rain on your parade, but instead of playing the Bm, it should really be D#dim. should be easier to play for beginners (i’m guessing this video is aimed at beginners, anyway), too (apart from being the “correct” chord
, if played with the root of the voicing on 1st fret od the “D”-string. besides that: good lesson, very intelligible.

I’m going to have to look at this all on paper or something anyway but you do realize that your hands on the guitar are covered by letters advertising the site?

Correct!!

When you pick Em you dont really need to hold the Em chord right? Because you dont play those strings? just 6-3-2-1?
khmoonwalk :
Any way you can do a close up of the finger picking and tell us exactlt which finger is plucking which string? It’s hard to tell right now. I’d be very grateful!! Thanks!

Nice tutoring, very clear, thanks!
To make it a little easier, i first learned it by regular strumming, so the chords and transmission (is that right in english?) were in my fingers, and then added the fingerpicking with your vid. Its really not a difficult song like this.

You’re very cute!
